WHAT

Design thinking is a design method that focuses on a practical, as well as a creative solution to problems or issues, with the intent to open the design process to a multidisciplinary level. This method combines ideas from the arts, tools from the social sciences, analytical methods from engineering sciences and insights from the business world.

WHY

In a time when there is hunger for innovation everywhere, we want to propose a methodology for innovation that requires collaboration across different disciplines. This workshop can help business or companies to find a tool for designing future scenarios and finding a new method of design thinking.

HOW 

In 90 minutes you will be taken through a full design cycle by participating in The Gift-Giving Project. This is an explanatory project where participants pair up to interview each other, identify real needs, and develop a solution to “redesign the gift-giving experience” for their partner. The event will feature the on-line “90-minute video-led cruise through the Design Thinking methodology”
Through this experience we hope you will take away some of the basic principles of Design Thinking and start to adapt them into your personal and professional routines.

NO PREVIOUS DESIGN EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Workshop will be held in English.

Two designers who met during the 2013 Global Service Jam session at the Impactory where “The Bus of Happy Mistakes” was born: organising workshops to stimulate Design Thinking in a playful manner.
